Accommodation in the Blue Mountains

If you are planning to stay for longer and enjoy the magic sceneries at the Blue Mountains. There are great options for you to stay and enjoy. You can stay in the nearest town called Katoomba where you can enjoy of the views and amazing nature. We personally stayed at a camp site, where we could see the kangaroos hopping about and the stars at night. However, if you want to have a more luxurious experience, there are some hotels, Airbnb and cabins that will transport you to a magical world. These are some of the following places we recommend you to stay:

Hostels, Luxury Hotels, Airbnb and Motels

Hostel

There are different budget Hostels, however we recommend the N14 Love St Guesthouse, with a very cozy and unique environment, the N14 Love St Guesthouse offers a great experience to those who want to meet people or spend time with family and friends. They offer different deals, such as a discount for booking directly, as well as special discounts for international students, blue light car and seniors.

The prices might vary from $31aud to $90aud per night.

Luxury Hotel in the Blue Mountains

For a more luxurious experience in the Blue Mountains we recommend The Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa. It offers a serene atmosphere full of nature. Ideal for a relaxing and romantic getaway. the rooms are greatly located to appreciate stunning views of the mountains. There is a magical heated swimming pool and also a spa. You can choose from a selection of treatments to treat your body and soul and receive the most amazing self-love experiences.

The booking prices depending on the type of experience and facilities you wish to use (spa, special dinning experience). There are Queen and Kings rooms as well as Deluxe studios and twin accommodation. The plans vary from a room only, to indulgence, gourmet experiences and baby moon getaways.

Airbnb

There are many charming Airbnbs available, ranging from cozy mountain cabins to modern retreats with fireplaces. this is a great option if you want to have more space or want to travel with family and friends. The location of the cabins can be close to the towns but far enough in the countryside to appreciate the peace of nature.

Motel

Alpine Motor Inn Twin Room

If you want to stay in a motel we recommend the Alpine Motor Inn. This is a great option for couples, families and solo travellers. They offer free parking, security, Mountain views, dinner and breakfast. This option can suit someone who is travelling for work to the Blue mountains or if you want to be a bit more comfortable for an affordable price.

The prices vary from $118 aud for a queen room to a $168aud per night for a family room. The Alpine Motor Inn is a great and easy option for a simple and comfortable stay at the Blue Mountains.

Blue Mountains Camp Sites

If you prefer to spend the night outdoors, there are different options to stay in campsites in the Blue Mountains for a fair price and fantastic facilities. We personally stayed at a camp site with one of our friends and manage to explore the area. We saw kangaroos hopping around our tents and heard the magnificent sing of the birds. Here are some of the best camping spots:

Euroka Campground

Located in close to Glenbrook at the Park near the Nepean River. You should pay the fee to enter the park (8 dollars per vehicle per night) Plus the camp fees. There are picnic tables, BBQ facilities and Toilets. you should bring with you cooking water, drinking water and firewood. This camp site is ideal for family trips, it is also great to do some short walks and discover more nature around it. There are 5 camping areas within Euroka: Appletree Flat, Bennett Ridge, Darug, Nioka and Red Gum.

You should Check in at 2 pm and check out by 10 am.

The price of stay is about $25aud per person or couple (tent only), however, the price will increase if there are more than 2 people making the booking.

Old Ford Reserve

It is a peaceful riverside spot, where everyone can stay for free. Located on Megalong Valley Rd, 15km S of Blackheath. There are lots places to park your caravan, your car or building your tent. Pets are allowed to stay in this camping site, and you can also set up a fire place, there are facilities like great toilets and you can also set up a BBQ. There isn’t running water so you need to bring your own. Because it is a free campsite, it can get quite busy and get booked really fast, so it can be hard to find a last minute spot. The campsite lies next to a river and there is lots of wildlife as well as tracks that you can do.

Dunphys Campground

This campsite offers 15 lots where you can put up your Tent or park your Camper trailer. The camp site is ideal to view the Mt Cloudmaker and the Wild Dog mountains. It is located in the Megalong Valley in the Bule Mountains Southern area. There are picnic tables, barbecue facilities, carpark, toilets. There is not running water so you should bring your own. When you book to stay in this campsite you are expected to pay $6 dollars booking fee, but the there are not camping fees.

You have to go through private property to access the camping site, so we recommend you to be respectful and quiet when arriving. Drive slowly and watch out for children, livestock and native animals. Please leave gates open or shut as you found them. If you stay there you can go for a day walk and fishing along the Cox’s River, extended hikes to Kanangra Walls, and climbing Narrow Neck’s cliffs.

Get prepared to see the kangaroos hoping about, koalas in the eucalyptus trees. you might also see wombats visiting, and will also be able to spot eagles and flocks of cockatoos above

Acacia Flat Campground

This campsite offers 30 spots in open ground. Its is great for bird washing and sunsets. You should bring drinking water, cooking water, enough food, comfortable clothes. There are nice and clean toilets. This campsite does not have access to a vehicle, you need to walk for about 4 hours to reach the site. The track to reach the campsite is grade 4 and has steep areas and steps. There are no marked sites. It is a remote campsite but its is great to be connected with nature and relax once you get there. you should carry your food and take your rubbish back to the town.

You can make bookings online and the fee is FREE, however, there might be a $6 aud booking fee.

Burralow Creek campground and picnic area

This Camp site allows tents, camper trailers and bedsides in vehicles and vans. the main facilities are toilets and BBQ so you can make delicious meals. you should bring your drinking water, cooking water and all the gear.

There are different bushwalks close to the camo but the most common is going through the rainforest to to Bulcamatta Falls. These are is famous for wetlands and the preservation of species like the giant Dragonfly and black cockatoo.

You can stay in this camp for free, however there might be a $6 dollars booking fee involved. When you spend the night there get ready to spot wallabies, owls and possums.
